For one, I used a long cable to get connectivity to my router; the other used an I decided to remove a wire from view and upgrade the connection speed of the other machine. Both devices installed in a few minutes and I had them both on the network in about 20 minutes total. The biggest problem I ran into was that one of the cards couldn’t see my wireless network SSID, so I had to enter the details by hand.
I’m not too sure why this happened, but it did and was pretty easy to work around. One person found this helpful. Although, the Trendnet was less expensive, it performed just as well as brands that were better know by me. I have been perfectly satisfied with its ease of setup, performance, and reliability.
I would have no problem buying more Trendnet products. The delivery with Amazon’s free shipping was very fast. Hurrah for Amazon and Trendnet. This product is very easy and simple to both install and use. On thing I did was I went back and let Windows run the device rather than the Trendnet program. This device connects much faster after making that change. I would buy again if I need more. You really can’t go wrong with this product, I have them in all my desktops at home 3.
Even worse, it continuously dropped the connection, even though I used the latest software from Trendnet. I got Mbps by disabling the connection software and letting Windows XP manage the connection. I had hoped for a bargain wireless N connection, but I am returning this one. This is a great card.
It works well, is consistent, and is fast. I would recommend it. The only thing I found was that the card didn’t hit full stride until I added the new drivers.
I also wish they had Linux drivers readily available. Over all it seems well made and performs great. Am thinking about upgrading to the mb card Dave. There’s nothing to special about this WiFi adapter.
Is pretty cool, easy to setup except that i strongly recommend to install the drivers from the CD but do not install the software it comes with; that software messed up my system in some way and i don’t like it either.
